Nuns' Island is a reference neighborhood in the Verdun borough of the city of Montreal, in Quebec (Canada). It is located on Île des Sœurs, an island in the Hochelaga archipelago located in the St. Lawrence River and of which it occupies the entire surface area.
The island hosts the Montreal leg of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, which is connected to the island of Montreal by two other bridges, the Nuns' Island Bridge and the Clément Bridge.
The island is essentially a high-density residential suburb, mainly due to its proximity to downtown Montreal. Mainly made up of luxury condo towers and single-family homes, the island is known for being a wealthy suburb of the Montreal metropolitan area. The island also includes a sector of business offices and shops near the highway access, including the northern sector of the island, where the head office of the Bell Canada company is currently located. Community services are clustered around the Elgar Centre, towards the center of the island, which includes a library, community center and church.
